Frequently Asked Questions
The answer varies depending on many factors; we must see the system in order to give you an accurate bid. Our prices are competitive with other hood cleaning and fire suppression companies that properly clean and service kitchen exhaust systems. Some of the factors that determine pricing are the size, type and configurations of the system, the type of cooking that is being done, and the volume of cooking. We calculate our hood cleaning pricing based on how long it will take us to clean. We calculate our fire suppression / extinguisher service pricing based on how many systems / extinguishers there are.
The most widely accepted guidelines regarding cleaning frequency have been published by the NFPA. You can locate some of those through our NFPA link to the left. Your AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) may have regulations regarding cleaning frequency. Also, your insurance company may have requirements for how often you must clean your system. The most important factor in determining the cleaning frequency is your safety. If you go too long between cleanings you are putting your establishment and personnel at risk. If there were a fire while the build-up was too thick the fire suppression system may not work, and even worse the fire could burn through the ductwork and spread into the building. According to the NFPA, all fire suppression systems should be serviced every six months and fire extinguishers should be serviced annually.
There are basically two types of KEC/Fire Suppression companies. The first, and most common, will only clean what you can easily see. They will not complete all the steps to service your fire suppression system properly. They will leave the ductwork and difficult to clean areas dirty, putting your establishment at risk. They will not completely test all mechanical components of the fire suppression system and replace your fusible links with outdated one links. Although they will sometimes charge less, they profit from you more; they are not spending the necessary amount of time or resources to clean or service your systems properly. We are the second type of company, which will service your systems according to NFPA standards. We also provide a high level of customer service, while other KEC/Fire Suppression companies often times do not.
We guarantee our work. This means passing all Fire/Health Inspections relating to your KEC/fire suppression service. We have many protocols in place to ensure that our crews clean and service your systems properly. Every customer has a relationship manager who will follow-up the morning after service to make sure you are satisfied. We are responsive to any issues and will make sure they are resolved, even if that means we return to your establishment. Our business has grown because of our focus on customer service.
CUSTOMER SERVICE IS OUR HIGHEST PRIORITY
"Accountable Cleaning is setting new standards in the industry by providing the best service available."
No. Unfortunately, there are companies who rely on scare tactics to promote their business. Yes, some companies will not put forth the time and effort to clean/service your system properly. But there are companies who will do what they say they will do. Get references and do your do diligence when selecting a company to work for you, but do not fall prey to the scare tactics that some will use.
No. There is currently no organization that rates, surveys, or investigates the quality of companies in our industry. Advertising that makes claims like '#1 rated/recommended cleaning company' is simply false. There is currently no way to determine that, and companies that make lavish claims may be compensating for a lack of service.
